The Ferocious Duel

A duel to the death used to be normal.

At 6 a.m. on April 11, 1819, Dr. William Caldwell, a surgeon and retired army officer, engaged in a pistol duel with local politician Michael O’Sullivan. With 5 shots each to take at each other, it was going to be brutal.
